Self assessment deadline approaches

A newsfeed I subscribe to reminded me the annual deadline for registering for self assessment in the UK is near.  It gives eight good reasons why you may need to register - worth a read if UK resident.

If you like me live in France the cases applying to you are most likely:-

- any self employed business you operate in the UK (so if you go back to the Uk a lot you do need to check this out)

- Uk property income - that is taxable in the UK even if you are French resident - and remember each person who has a share of the rental income must register; plus

- if you earn Directors fees for a UK company you may also need to register.
